Process Hazard Analysis
In general, PHA studies are conducted to identify hazard scenarios associated with various kinds of industrial activities. When hazard scenarios are identified, existing/ proposed designs and operations are assessed to determine if appropriate engineering/administrative controls are in place. If the current level of protection is determined insufficient, recommendations are made to eliminate and/or mitigate the scenarios.
HEI has experienced Facilitators that can ensure an appropriate PHA Study is performed which meets the requirements outlined in OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) Standard, 29 CFR §1910.119(e) and the EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP Program) Rule, 40 CFR Part 68 (§68.67).
If your facility is starting up a new process, revalidating a PHA previously conducted, or just want a fresh approach in looking at your system, HEI can provide an experienced Facilitator to lead the study and ensure the process is completed appropriately.
